WESC Soho by Ted Cahill

Wesc
One of the hottest new arrivals topping the list of Manhattan shopping destinations is the WESC Store in SoHo. The Swedish-based WESC (aka WeAretheSuperlativeConspiracy) creates a line of street clothes with its roots in skateboard culture but also delivers "after the skate," a highly-developed line of apparel that targets people outside of the boarding community. Like true street subculture, they embrace the concept of unpredictability so you won't find their clothes in any ordinary sports retail stores and, instead of using models, they enlist a crew of "WE activists" who include DJs and actors. The store itself is a hyper-modern interactive space with lights that change color according to the vibrations of subway trains as they pass by underneath the floor. In addition to fashions and accessories, WESC also recently teamed up with Nokia to create the WESC Nokia 3250, a limited edition travel/music phone kit, and has more collaborations in the works.

Both purveyors of quality, the two brands used their shared attribute to produce a shoe that comes together naturally while keeping to their independent styles. The outcome is a classy downtown loafer...
Renzo Rosso: Diesel Planet Store Fifth Avenue
Fresh off a smoke, Renzo Rosso sat down with us to answer a few questions about Diesel's newest and largest Planet store on swanky Fifth Avenue in NYC. Looking more Mick Jagger than his revered neighbor Armani, it's clear this store is more rock'n'roll than Rockefeller. Located at the corner of 54th Street, the doors open today, just four hours before Renzo bares his Fall...
Laura Lobdell Boutique
Good things come in small packages, so great things must come from what has to be the smallest store in NYC, Laura Lobdell's jewelry store in the West Village, which opened last week. I'm a longtime fan of her found object-based designs and with the store's large assortment of playful and quotidian jewelry makes it easy to find the right gift for anyone. Perfect for...
Alife x Lacoste Polo
by Ariston Anderson Are there ever days when you want to roll in to work on your skateboard but still have to look somewhat presentable? Well, the latest collaboration between purveyor of all things sneaker, Alife, and French sportswear mogul, Lacoste, is a polo shirt that is the perfect combination of preppy and punk. Featuring the largest alligator ever to grace a (legitimate) Lacoste shirt,...
