Carson Potter Fall Collection by Carol T Chung

CP-dress.jpg

If you found yourself flipping through Elle this month while waiting in line at the grocery store or while doing some other mundane task, you may have come across the small feature on Carson Potter. Sariah Carson and Jaylin Potter (Parsons survivors by the way) are based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Their work plays beatifully against the silhouette with exquisite attention to detail. While evocative of classic sentiments of femininity, it drops the puritan sense of modesty with its rich decadent textures. Carson Potter's fall collection will be available by mid September in a few select stores; Barneys Japan, Creature of Comforts (LA), Bark (NYC), Bird (NYC), and DV (LES) - the official site is a bit lacking, so I dug up this article about it on Refinery 29 from back in January. Tailored in NYC, the pant is constructed using a double weave method featuring a Cordura canvas face and soft brushed back interior to ensure comfort. The fabric is a...

While most labels are...
Project No. 8b
Brian Janusiak and Elizabeth Beer, the duo behind Various Projects, recently opened their second retail establishment, Project No. 8b, in lower Manhattan. A sibling to the couple's acclaimed women's wear boutique just blocks away, Project No. 8b's equally minimal interior houses a tightly edited selection of men's apparel and accessories, many of which hail from Europe. Foregoing expensive or elaborate interior details, Brian and...
Wurst Clothing
Switching his tune from record label entrepreneur to fashion designer, My Cousin Roy, aka Roy Dank's new clothing line Wurst perfectly channels the downtown-meets-uptown feel. Inspired by Vivienne Westwood's brazen Anglomania line, the quality of craftsmanship found in vintage YSL and Dior and the downtown demeanor of Glenn O'Brien's TV Party, as well as brief respites in upstate New York, Dank's menswear line mixes...
