The Collection by Evan Orensten
Allison Grant opened The Collection in Paris in 2003 to feature the work of new and established English designers. Her collection has grown and features works by several designers, spanning wallpaper (handmade, embroidered, trompe l'oeil, kits, appliques...), lighting, accessories, children's furniture and accessories.
There are too many great things to show, but we managed a few of our favorites: Colorful kitchen towels by Unity Peg (above), wallpaper by Tracy Kendall, Deborah Bowness and Aurélie Mathigot, and the flocked vinyl "frames" by Mayte Alcade.

This is clearly evident in her work. Floral patterns...

An intelligent riff on kitchen textiles, Gry Fager's Mormor collection of tableware for Normann Copenhagen combines modern form and traditional pattern with the most gratifying results. Mormor's distinct patterns—a graphic interpretation of the typical blue and white tea towel and a textural nod to the classic dish cloth—grace a variety of dining objects such as bowls, cups, platters, plates and decanters. The collection manages...

Quintessentially English with a twist is the best way to describe these gorgeous designs from Barneby Gates. These new kids on the printing block produce beautiful wallpapers that embrace the past with a distinctive contemporary wit. Patterns show typical English influences of country houses, floral decor and heraldry, but on closer inspection have design details that merit a double take. One, called Deer Damask,...
